I have a toast problem. I'm dazzled by it's simplicity. In one minute you have a crispy vehicle for tasty toppings. I eat for a snack and I eat it with tea. When it's time to cook other food I convince myself that I'm too hungry to wait and I'll just have one piece of toast to tide me over, and the next thing I know I've become a blob of butter and marmalade.
Incidentally, I found the marmalade at The Tea House in Covent Garden after reading about how to spot the marmalade aficionado's marmalade. The secret is hand cut Seville oranges and a dark-colored orangeness that makes you ask yourself, "is this really marmalade?" Which raises another question: what is marmalade? Can you categorize it as jam or is it an identity unto itself?

I do the same thing with toast. I had to stop buying bread because it was getting way out of hand.
I also wonder the same thing about marmalade.
We should totally start a club. The we-don't-know-what-marmalade-is-but-we-sure-do-love-it-on-toast club. Or WDKWMIBWSDLIOT for short.
Last night I watched "Dan In Real Life" with my quasi-girlfriend and right before we began the film, I suggested tea. She then brought out several jams and toast. The best one however --- butter with honey over wheat toast. Delicious! I may make some now in fact.
