There is one thing that I find particularly perplexing when travelling on an airplane. No matter where my seat is, row 2 or row 32, by the time I board the plane half of the passengers are already seated. Moreover, these are not clustered groupings, as in the "Rows 27-32" that the announcer calls to board. These people are scattered here and there throughout the cabin and they all have mischevious half-smiles on their faces that seem to suggest, "Even though your row was called before mine, I got here early so I could watch you try to get past that big-butted man shoving his bright orange luggage into the overhead compartment."
